I love the 4th of July in Idaho Falls! Even when we lived in Utah we would usually come back to IF for the 4th. It is both a small town feeling and big city fireworks and fun! Last year AKA entered the parade and won the "Youth Award". This year Austin Kade Academy won the "Commercial Award"! We teamed with Sign-O-Rama and they were kind enough to pull us in the parade and put up with us too!
One of our instructors, Heather Torres was in charge of the float this year and she along with the students and staff decided on the theme of "Candyland" for this year. It was a lot of work, 3 weeks worth, then the day before it rained on the float and it had to be fixed again! But all was well and it turned out great!
Preparing the models at 4AM! Too early for most of us!
Then on to wait at the parade route, for 3 hours before it even started.
Some went to sleep, ON the FLOAT!
One of my great friends from high school came all the way from Phoenix with her son, Makoy and her husband Bob to help us out and visit. I just love Lisa! Isn't she gorgeous?!
We had a real life princess on the float, Cassidy Bronson, Miss Teen Idaho International!
The students had a blast showing school spirit, passing out business cards and of course CANDY to the crowds! We got a lot of cheers and we saw a lot of people we knew!
Then there was the "Who Ride?" cheer, Tyler led everyone in, a football classic that has made it into AKA lore.
Thanks to a staff who gave of their personal time on a holiday and always shares in our vision of FUN and excellence in leading the future of our industry!
A big Horray! for Austin Kade students, staff, family, models, Sign-O-Rama and Heather Torres! It was fun and it was FABULOUS! We can't wait for next year!
