One of my heros, mentors and best friends was able to visit us at Austin Kade Academy last week, the one and only PHILLIP WILSON! His lovely wife Mary and his son Tyler were also able to come. Mary, along with Ann Mincey host Destination Rejuvenation twice a year in Laguna Beach, CA.
The week started out with me going to Taylor Andrews Academy, where I used to be the Creative Director, in Salt Lake City to help with the classes that Phillip was teaching there.
Then we headed up to Idaho for a great day that the students and staff had been looking forward to and preparing for since his visit last year!
The staff was privileged to have one on one, hands on training with Phillip that day as well! Phillip and I have had many conversations about when the right time to introduce his Free Form Cutting into any haircutting curriculum and tried an experiment. We had my daughter Sammy, who is 15 and has never cut hair before, take the hands on class with the instructors! She did so AMAZING! Also my great friends Nikki and Sam attended the instructor portion as well. It was very emotional for all involved.
That night Mary flew in from Iowa and the next morning the students and staff were priviledged to have her lead them in meditation, talk about stress management, breathing and her awesome retreat in Laguna Beach in October!

It really was an AMAZING two days and we can't wait to host them again! Everyone was inspired by the energy and passion that both Mary and Phillip have for our industry and particularly for the new generation of stylists and estheticians that we have the honor of instructing everyday! Thanks to all who made their visit so wonderful! I am truely blessed!
