I don't even remember the last time I posted. That's bad. We had a VERY successful HAIRSHOW. It was amazing! I am so proud of all the students and the staff for all of their hard work and ingenuity. I will post a link to the show, after I figure out how and after I get HOME.
I have been in Lincoln, Nebraska this past week. Home of the Corn Huskers, or just the Huskers. I figured out the first couple of days that EVERYONE here LOVES the Huskers! They wear their gear all over the place ! I started counting how many people I see with Husker-wear each time I go out and about and it's really about 10 a time! Out of 250,000 people that live in Lincoln, 100,000 of them (EVERY game is sold out!) go to the Huskers games! Half of the city! Children as young as 2 needing to wear red to daycare on a Friday and saying "Go Huskers!" AMAZING! That is team spirit I tell you. Now on to the real reason I am visiting here!
My next to youngest sister Suzanne (or Suzie as the fam calls her), was pregnant and starting having trouble with placenta previa. It was her fourth pregnacy and fourth potential c-section. At about 22 weeks she was put in the hospital on total bed rest for the bleeding. At 26 weeks and MANY lost blood cells later, they had to do a an emergency c-section. Sweet little Ameila was born 3 minutes after Suzie was under anesthetic and weighed in at 2 pounds. She is the youngest baby they have had at that hospital. So Ameila is in the hospital until about her due date of July 6th and Suzie is recovering at home now from a very scary and life threatening time! They had a cousin come help for the first week, my mom here from her mission in Mexico City for two weeks, then I came to help for a week. Suzie is susposed to stay down for another 3 weeks, so her husband Ryan's mom is coming next, then my closest in age sister Julie will be last. They called in the reinforcements! We were happy to ablidge!
At this same time my youngest sister Kim got Strep A in her arm and it got terribly infected, she had to have surgery on her arm and she also has a 6 month old. I was here in Nebraska, so Julie went off to the resue of Kim. Now my brother and sister in law Rob and Erin are helping out while Kim's husband is trying to do finals and work some. I am heading back that way tomorrow and will stay 2 days to help her out.
Thanks so much to my loving, sweet, understanding husband who took no thought at all to send me off in several planes and 13 hours to get to NE. Who has been taking care of it all on his own. The house, the kids, the school- Austin Kade Academy. Thanks to the staff, who unselfishly cleared their schedules to make room for mine so I could try to be a good sister that wanted to help out. Thanks to B and B who get my craziness and that family comes first. Thanks to my children, who are trying to be good, right?
I have had fun, but it has been hard work too! Little kids are a lot of work! Suzie and her awesome husband Ryan have a 20 month old-Logan, a 4 year old- Carson and an 8 year old-Savannah. They are fun and sweet and have nicknamed me affectionately (?) Auntie Spongebob! Probably because I let them watch Spongebob both before and after I found out they weren't allowed to. Also maybe because they had cotton candy after breakfast this morning. Who knows. I'm not sure if it's a compliment or not, but it's some term of endearment so I'll take it! Go Huskers!
Well, on to the good part! PICTURES! I didn't put Logan in the dog kennel, he went in there and started barking like a dog. I was laughing so hard! Then pictures of tiny, adorable Amelia.
